Resources & Guides
Practical guides to help promoters and developers in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and across Maharashtra understand MahaRERA compliance — from registration to QPR filing, extensions and corrections.
1. MahaRERA Project Registration Guide
MahaRERA registration is mandatory for any project larger than 500 sq.m or with more than 8 apartments. The process involves submitting land title documents, sanctioned building plans, architect and engineer certificates, and promoter details through the MahaRERA portal. Registration is typically granted within 30 days, after which the registration number and QR code must be used in all advertisements and agreements for the project.
2. Understanding QPR Filing
Every registered project must file a Quarterly Progress Report on the MahaRERA portal within the prescribed timeline, updating construction status, sales, and financial progress. Missing a QPR deadline can attract penalties and may lead to the project's registration being flagged, so promoters are advised to file consistently and correct any errors promptly through a correction application.
3. Extension & Correction Applications Explained
An Extension application is filed when a promoter needs more time to complete a project beyond the registered completion date, along with valid reasons and supporting documents. A Correction application is used to amend previously filed project details, such as plan revisions or promoter information, without changing the registration timeline. Both applications are submitted through the MahaRERA portal and are typically processed within 30 to 60 days.
4. MahaRERA Compliance Checklist for Promoters
Promoters should maintain up-to-date registration and QPR filings, respond promptly to any scrutiny queries raised on the portal, display the registration number and QR code on all marketing material, deposit the required percentage of collections in a designated RERA bank account, and file extension or correction applications before deadlines lapse. Staying compliant helps avoid penalties and keeps the project eligible for bookings and approvals.
